The 1st Internal Case Competition 2009

Stenden University Qatar organized its 1st internal case competition in the period of 2nd to 5th of March 2009. This event was the opportunity for 32 students organized in 8 teams from different majors and study years to compete in solving business cases and presenting solutions to a committee of judges chosen among the management and academic staff of the university.

The competition was organized in a round-robin format where each team had to solve three different business cases and compete against another team in this process. Each team had 2 and half hours the time to read the business case; analyze it; decide on alternative solutions and prepare a Power Point presentation to present to a committee of judges and audience made of staff and students.

The Alpha Consultants team won the 4th and last case in a match against the Delta Consultants on the 5th of March 2009.

The 1st Internal Case Competition was rounded off at the end of the final match in a good atmosphere among the participants and audience. Mr. Wayne Johnson; president of Stenden University Qatar gave a speech to thank all the members of the organizing committee and the students for their participation and distinguished contribution to the success of the competition. He presented to the finalists the prizes for the 1st and 2nd place; and announced the names of the members of the two teams that will represent Stenden University Qatar at the CNA-Q International Case Competition that will take place from the 13-15th of March 2009.

Mr. Wayne Johnson wished the two teams a lot of success in their participation at this competition. It is worth mentioning that Stenden University Qatar will be the defending champions. In the last CNA-Q International Case Competition 2008; the Alpha Consultants team won the 1st place.

Stenden University Qatar will make of this internal Case Competition a yearly event. The 2nd Internal Case Competition 2010 promises more success and surprises.
