Equal Opportunities Act
The Equal Opportunities Act entered into force on 1st December 2003 and its full name is: Equal Opportunities Act on grounds of disability or chronic illness.
According to this Act professional education in the Netherlands must be accessible to everyone. This right extends to all parts of education, viz. Access to education, the lessons, internships and information about, e.g. exams and career counselling. Naturally, you must satisfy the programme criteria.
When a student indicates that he needs certain modifications or adaptations then the school must take care of that on condition that the adaptation is suitable and necessary. The adaptations may not be a disproportionate burden on the school.
