Grants for studying abroad 

If you are interested in spending part of your studies at Stenden outside of the Netherlands, Stenden offers some grant possibilities.

Erasmus grants

Erasmus grants are meant for European internships and European exchanges, for students with nationality of one of the EU member states. For more information, please check the Stenden intranet, click on International Office, Grants (and finances).

Leonardo grants for graduates

For those students who want to participate in a European internship after their graduation, there is funding available from the Leonardo programme. This could be your chance for example to bridge the period between graduation and starting a new study, to specialize in a certain discipline, learn another language or to gain experience in the European country of your choice (including the territories overseas like for example French Polynesia, Cayman Islands, Falklands, Greenland etc.)

The Leonardo grant is available for those graduates who wish to extend their knowledge in a certain area through a placement in Europe. Recent graduates (<2 years) are eligible for a Leonardo grant. The placement should take place:

• in one of the 27 EU-countries or Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Turkey and the territories overseas
• in a company (a.o. embassies, consulates, European organisations and some cultural institutes are excluded)
• for a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 52 weeks (a different minimum period applies for part-time internships)

Graduates can ask for an information package, including criteria, information on the procedure and necessary documents for application, through leonardo@stenden.com

VSB grant

Another interesting option: Students with Dutch nationality who want to study abroad after graduation should check www.vsbfonds.nl/beurzen for information about the VSB grant. Deadline March 1.
